Ireland

We'll be soon updating the blog with photos from Ireland, but we took so many photos we haven't found time to process them yet.
So we decided to show you a screenshot of the route we drove in Ireland and to tell a few words where we have been.

We landed in Dublin and picked up the car. Our first stop was Cork on the south of Ireland in county Cork. We had a reservation in a really cute B&B for two days there. We were greeted by rain and sunshine. Since we drove around 200km on the first day we went through rain and sun quite a few times and we had a chance to see four rainbows in just a few hours. I don't think we ever saw so many in a year here in Slovenia. The evening that followed we decided to take a little walk around Bantry. Next morning we woke up to a delicious Irish breakfast and were so happy that we decided to pay for the breakfast cause it gave us much needed energy throught the day. Our first sightseeing stop was Cork. It's a nice quite big city(we found that out later in the evening when we got lost). Next stop was Kinsale and then the Galley head. The third day we woked up to rain and fog but that didn't stop us from driving to Bantry to see the Bantry house and then later to Mizen head, where we saw mostly fog. We were sleeping in Killarney that night. On our forth day we took a walk around the Killarney National park, more excatly the Torc Waterfall. It is gorgeous and really big, even though the pictures don't show its true size. In the afternoon we headed to the Ring of Kerry and to Waterville to our B&B. We stopped quite a lot during the route, thanks to the amazing views. The fifth day we went to the small but gorgeous Valencia Island and the evening to the Gap of Dunloe. We spent the night in Killarney again since it was a nice spot to start the journey to Dingle peninsula. The sixt day welcomed us with amazing weather throught the day. We spent the day in the south of Dingle peninsula and finished the day with a gorgeous sunset at the the Coumeenole beach and near Slea head. The seventh day was the day for the Connor pass which gives you really gorgeous views. And even though it was so windy we barley could open the doors on the car we really did enjoyed it. We took a drive ti the Sybil head and then the rain and fog made us go to the hotel. On the eight day we left county Kerry and went to the Cliffs of Moher. We stopped again for a few nice views and came to the Cliffs of Moher in the late afternoon. They truly are amazing and breathtaking. We waited for the sunset which gave quite nice violet and pink tones to the long exposure pictures. We spent the night in an amazing hotel near Limerick. The ninth day we had to say goodbye to the coast and gorgeous villages, so we made one last village stop in Adare, and then continued to Dublin. It was time to give our Micra back to the rental company and to explore the city of Dublin. We decided to go to the Grand canal theatre area which has amazing architecture. We waited for the blue hour to capture a few long exposure of Dublin down the river Liffey. Next day we went to see the Dublin Castle, where we had a free tour, because the State Apartments were being renovated due to the visit of Bill Clinton in the following week. Did you know that Dublin actually mean the black puddle? We went to the St. Patricks Cathedral and to the Chirst Church Cathedral. We liked the second one better because it more beautiful and with less people. We finished the day with the blue hour around Trinity College & The Bank of Ireland. On our last day we were so tired that we went to the National History & Natural History Museum (also knows as the "dead zoo" of Dublin), shopped for some souvenirs and then went to the hotel quite early to pack everything, cause we had to check out at 3.30am, due to the 7 am flight.

So this was a short summary of where we went and you can see the whole route on the map.
